First-ever European Automotive Day unites automotive industry leaders at significant turning point

Last week, the first-ever European Automotive Day was held at the iconic Brussels Autoworld, bringing together leaders from across the entire automotive value chain. The event marked a significant milestone in strengthening collaboration between vehicle manufacturers, automotive suppliers, national automotive associations and policy makers.

Organised by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) and the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA), the event was hosted by Ola Källenius, President of ACEA and CEO of Mercedes-Benz, and Matthias Zink, President of CLEPA and CEO Powertrain & Chassis at Schaeffler.

The evening kicked off with a panel discussion featuring representatives from leading automotive companies, including Ola Källenius, Matthias Zink, Rådström, CEO of Daimler Truck, and European Investment Bank (EIB) Vice-President,  Robert de Groot. Together, they discussed the challenges of financing the transition to zero-emission mobility

This European Automotive Day established new connections between industry leaders and policymakers in the backdrop ongoing Strategic Dialogue meetings, . As the automotive landscape continues to evolve at a rapid pace, this event served as a forum for ongoing dialogue and joint problem-solving across the European automotive ecosystem.
